The term indicates a backup procedure that aims to provide backups of a database in order to prevent the total loss of data stored in the mass memory of your computer.

Data loss is a danger to whoever holds a huge amount in your computer, in fact there may be tampering, failure, data theft, so it becomes necessary to back up the database in a periodical.

We analyze the procedure to be performed for both versions of the software.

Backup in Access 2007

The first step is to open a file. Accdb Office Access 2007, click the Office button and select the Open item from the Office menu, as shown below:

This will open the Open dialog box of the command (shown below), in which we select the database to open, and then click on the black arrow beside the Open button, bottom right:
Clicking on the black arrow, shown in the image above will open a submenu containing the following items:
  • Open
  • Open Read-Only
  • Open Exclusive
  • Open read-only access to only
  • Show previous versions
Among the items previously listed choose Open Exclusive mode, which is nothing but a type of data access in a shared database on the net.
The moment you open a database in exclusive mode, the Open Exclusive mode prevents other users to access them.
This preventive measure is to ensure that tethering the database is ready for encryption.

At this point, after opening the database by clicking the Office button and select Manage from the menu item to the Office, and then click on Backup Database, as shown below:

In the dialog that opens enter the name of backup, but in fact it already provides access by default, and is made from database_name + Data_backup, but if we can change it, as shown in the following:
At this point we just have to press Save to confirm.
