We all know how important it is for a webmaster to monitor the access of visitors to a website.
Thanks to the statistics, in fact, a site owner can realize what has happened and what, instead, must be improved.
For this reason it is important to always have a tool that is able to show us the numbers and details of visits to our site.
If we use a WordPress plugin that can help us is, of course, the excellent FireStats.
This WordPress plugin definitely does not have all the features of analysis that may offer web services like Google Analytics, but to get an overview of user participation and visits to our site is still very useful and interesting features:
We download the add-in from its official website . Let's click on the download link is located under the frame start here. We select the latest version of the plugin by clicking on its link. We extract the files and upload the folder within the destination wp-content/plugin / on our server.
At this point we return to the WordPress admin panel to activate the plugin. To do that we move in the plugins section and click on active at the name of the add just entered.
It 'appears likely to top an error message.

This is because the plugin fails to build properly, according to the settings of our server, a folder dedicated to it. However, we can do this manually via FTP file transfer software, creating a folder within the directory firestats fs_sessions call the plugin, and of course giving it write permissions.
At this point the installation is complete. We Firestats click the entry that is present in the upper left corner, inside the box Board. Initially we will be asked if you want to participate in the process of sending some information on the system that may be useful for developers. Delivery of data, ensures the warning will be in a completely anonymous. However, if we do not want to participate can click no, do not send.

Now is a graphical desktop panel FireStats.
Obviously there will be no early visible data, since the plugin has not yet begun to collect data.
But just open any page of our site to understand just how accurately FireStats works.
We analyze, one by one, the tabs on the plugin.
