Analyzing IIS logs with Analog

Every web server such as Apache or IIS is able to record each HTTP request received in a log file. A web server, but it could also receive thousands of HTTP requests every day, so the log file analysis is complex.

Analog software, which can be downloaded for free at www.analog.cx , responds to this need, providing the user a tool for analyzing log files generated by web servers and automatically generate detailed statistical reports. Proceed to install the software first.

Installation

Imagine having a Windows operating system and then download the Windows version of Analog, which is still used with other operating systems such as Linux or Macintosh type. Once downloaded the file extract it (eg using Winzip ) to a folder of our choice.

Now verify the proper functioning of the program. Double click on the file Analog.exe.

Analog.exe highlight the file, which is located in Analog

This will open a command prompt MS-DOS and then closes automatically. If the program is successful will be created within the directory you choose a file name Report.html, if not, we will verify the nature of the error occurred opening the file errors.txt.

Highlight the file and Report.html errors.txt, in the directory Analog
