Install a new application package files

In the previous chapter we showed how the reader more used to install new software in our Mac As mentioned there are two other ways, let's see now another.

The second way we are going to briefly discuss is the classic installation performed by following the instructions provided by the installer. Typically, this installation is present for large applications with for example the development of Apple's Xcode IDE. We do not provide an example of this installation because it led to find a free software that present this type of installation is not easy.

Just know that the installation, however, in this case is very simple. Typically, an application that exhibits this type of installation, has a file type. PKG representing the installation package itself. by double-clicking on this file, automatically, will open the installation procedure which usually consists of the following steps:

• Introduction: shows an overview of the software that we will install.
• Readme: a screen that has the license to use the software and related regulations. And 'required to accept in order to continue with the installation.
• Target: at this stage you simply select the physical device where you want to install the application. If your Mac has, for example, two separate hard drives you can choose the one in which you want to install the application.

This utility will create substantially the same location which is located in the compressed folder, a folder containing the unpacked the compressed files.

At this point we can access the decompressed folder and can use all the files inside, including any application installation file.
