Introduction to Overview: Manage PDF Documents

We are now going to submit an application that is most commonly used: Ateprima.

This application is used to read documents pricipalemte. Pdf and is able to open images in JPEG, TIFF, GIF, and PICT.

To understand the structure of this application, a random document will look. Pdf and carry out double-click on it. Automatically opens the Preview application that will have such an interface:

As you can see from the screenshots can be proposed, in this case, the interface shown divided into elements. The top interface, which represents the toolbar, contains all the tools you can use and work is also shown the title of the document currently open and the page number of the document that we are viewing. In the central part of the interface is shown the document just opened, and finally on the right side of the interface, shows preview pages that are part of the document.

We are now going to analyze the features present in the default toolbar. The first set of buttons, Previous and Next allow you to move from page to page of the pdf file, while the second block works on the zoom of the contents of the files shown to the user.

The third block consists of buttons on the button that allows you to move through the document, the button allows you to select text of text in the file. Pdf and finally the button rectangle, however, when we analyze in more detail, the content displayed by will preview an image.

This last button in the toolbar is the button Write down that when clicked, will display its toolbar beautiful bottom of the window:

This toolbar contains some very useful tools to perform operations on the text of the pdf. This allows you to write notes, make sottolineauture, highlight the text, and more. In case you have a PDF whose contents are organized in columns, preview, this configuration is able to identify and enable the underlining and highlighting columns. This means that you will emphasize or highlight, with no problems, only the rows belonging to a particular column.

This last tool in the status bar of the Preview is the field of research that is identical to the field of integrated Spotlight in the Finder. Through this field can be searched by entering a word or an entire speech, or to search within open PDF. The research carried out in the Preview is a dynamic research, is as Effective as many times as you insert a new character in the text field gradually going to improve the results when the number of characters entered.

Another special application is to organize the results of research in two ways. This can be seen in the gray bar that appears below the status bar during the research phase:

If the first option is enabled, or research priorities, research results, in column previews, will be reorganized on a basis of priorities set, and if it is enabled page order, the results are presented according to the numbering of the pages of the document.

Another operation that you can do with Preview is the fusion of pdf. Imagine we have two pdf files and want them to merge, or insert the pages of the second file at the end of the first pages of the file. It will simply highlight the thumbnails of the pages of the second file, and drag the column holding the thumbnails of the first file in the desired position and then release. It will therefore suffiente saving your document to make such changes, permanent.
