Introduction to the Mac App Store

Before you tell the reader how to install new applications using the Mac App Store is a small dutiful submission. Substantially the Mac App Store is a revolutionary software instalation mode, where you simply make a click on the desired application, make the due payment if the application is free of charge and will be automatically installed on your computer. The Mac App Store is nothing more than an on-line applications that we install on our device.

The Mac App Store has recently landed on Mac OS X (with an upgrade) and basically follows the structure of the most common in the App Store where you can buy applications for mobile devices like the iPhone, iPod Touch or the iPad. If the player is in possession of one of these devices and has already made a purchase on the App Store, will certainly find problems using the Mac App Store.

But before you can install applications directly from Mac App Store, you must have an iTunes account that we will create together. Let us open the iTunes application (this application we analyze more specifically in the guide) and will load the default page of the 'iTunes Store. In the upper right corner of the window, and more precisely in the bar with black background, click on the item Log. This will open the following screen:

As we can see the screen contains the fields to access the iTunes account if we are in possession, or you can create a new account by clicking on the Create button. Clicking the button opens a welcome window and click on the Continue button at the bottom right. At this point you will get a screen containing the terms and conditions of service that you must accept to proceed with creating your account. We therefore check the item "I have read and agree to these terms conditions" and click on continue.

At this point you need to fill in the fields in the registration form correctly. In the lower part of the module can also enable features such as the newsletter will be informed of the new features of iTunes. Filled out the required fields click on continue.

It now opens a new screen that requires completion of an additional module to associate a credit card or a prepaid card to your iTunes account in order to make the purchase of paid content. The module consists of two parts: the part that requires the insertion of the card number and its security code, and the part relating to the billing address.

After verifying that the data of your credit card security code and a new screen will appear stating that you were sent an email to the email address specified containing an activation link. At this point we go to open any mail from iTunes and click on the link, iTunes will open automatically notify us that the account was enabled successfully. With this account you can now buy music and video content on the iTunes Store, paid applications on the Mac App Store and the App Store.

Now let's create an account to open the iTunes App Store application, which by default is located in the dock. The interface of the Mac App Store is a very simple and intuitive as we can see in the screenshot below:

Again, as we did in the analysis of the finder, you can identify two main parts of the interface: the status bar that contains links to categories and classifications, and the main window that displays the contents of the section of the status bar at the where we are (in the screenshot we are in the foreground).

Before going to show you how to install new application from the Mac App Store should give an overview on the structure of this application to allow the reader to navigate easily between the classifications and categories in which applications are divided.
