TextEdit: the text editor for Mac OSX

Pre-instal another application in Mac OS X is easy to see how that TextEdit is a text editor, identified by this icon:

Let's start by saying that the editor offered to us by Apple un'iditor minimal in that no advanced customization, but it is an excellent tool for writing notes or documents that do not require any advanced formatting. Personalmento I find it an extremely useful tool to write short notes, because the execution is almost immediate difference in the iWork suite developed by Apple to pay. As you can see from the screenshots the interface offered is minimal, because the tools in the toolbar are the most used and allow the formattazioen style (underline, italic, bold), the alignment of the text, creating lists Bullets and the change from single to double spacing.

Any text editor worthy of the name, has a spelling checker, and in fact it implements a very efficient TextEdit. The analysis of the correct spelling is done every time you type a single letter in the text box and then if the unknown word is not entered will be highlighted with the classic red dotted line. At this point you can interact with the spell checker simply selezioanndo the word, go to the application menu, click Composition, Spelling and Grammar and then finally on display spelling and grammar. The window that opens will be as follows:

From this window you can supplement it by replacing the word spell checker included among those offered, or simply adding the word to the vocabulary. Once you add the word to the vocabulary, of course, the word is no longer recognized as an error and the dashed line will disappear under the red word.

TextEdit also allows the inclusion, within the text, images and music files. To incorporate one of these files, the step is simple: just click on the image or music file you want, trascianare the file in the TextEdit window and release. At this point the page will have a format like this:

The operations you can perform the inserted are zero because you can not change the size and position can be changed only by using the Enter key or space bar. These, and many other operations are possible, for example, about Pages is that the professional text editor included in the iWork suite.
