Google buys patents from IBM

The group confirmed that Google would become the owner of a thousand patents previously owned by High Tech giant IBM, the news would come through official channels with a lag, given that the transfer would take place already on 17 August.

At the moment none of the two companies involved in the transaction would have provided additional details on it, so we do not know what the figure (probably much higher) paid by the group founded by Page and Brin to make sure the purchased patents.

This move by Google should be inserted within the STRATEGY implemented in recent months in defense of the Android operating system that has led, among other things, the acquisition of Motorola's Mobility and its approximately 17 000 patents.

As demonstrated by the legal affairs between Apple and Samsung, the fate of the mobile market does not play alone on store shelves, but also, and in some cases, especially in courtrooms.
