Investigation of the EU on the prices of e-books

The 'European Union since the beginning through the special commission for investigation aimed to clarify whether the policies adopted by some publishers (on the platform of the house of Cupertino) relative to the prices of e-books in order to verify that these are consistent with applicable regulations.

The suspect, now everything to prove, is that the protagonists in the field have given rise to collective agreements by which to maintain high prices of digital publications, in this case constitutes a true "sign" an act to limit the beneficial effects of competition.

The signs are of course prohibited by law so that policies should not be possible to conflict with the interests of consumers, now the investigation will bring out any ongoing liability and, where appropriate, lead to sanction any behavior that are not allowed.

But what is the role of Apple in all this? The survey, which is merely the result of a preliminary investigation began last September, will have to prove if the Cupertino company has left over to publishers freedom to set prices.
