In this tutorial we will see how to accomplish, using Photoshop, a wallpaper for your desktop with 3D effect.
The subject of our background will be a laptop which has changed the screen with a nice three dimensional effect.

Open a new document in Photoshop, size 1200x800px resolution of 72dpi. We insert our image base:

 File -> Insert

For convenience we link, the source for download .
Place it in the center of our stage after that, with the Polygonal Lasso Tool, select the screen of our computer and duplichiamolo to a new level:
Now that we have a copy of our screen, we alter its dimensions:

 Edit -> Free Transform

Check that Constrain Proportions selected and increase the size of the 10% level:
Repeat 4 times the level of duplication of increasing the size of 10% for each time:
Now we will use two tools not generally used, but not unimportant: it is the selection tool and the single row single column selection tool.

Before you enter our background image, enable the Grid menu:

 View -> Show -> Grid

Activated you will see the grid lines on the stage horizontally and vertically.

Now we import - Insert menu - the image we want to apply to the screen of our laptop. In my case I chose a screenshot of using them on the home page centre-equestre-lepuy.com (there you can download here ).
Reduce the image and make sure that falls between 8 columns and 6 rows as shown:

Duplicate the layer "background-screen" (the one with the image you just imported) and we let down (bring down the icon "eye" from the Layers panel):
Rasterize both levels.
