Getting started: overcoming the impasse by "white paper"

Start writing is never easy: first of all we should ask ourselves if the way we deal with a topic, or content that we would like to enter into a site, meet the real interests or to meet the needs of our stakeholders. On these issues, however, we will return at a later time (see: "Know your target").

In this chapter of our guide, however, I will touch on a problem that afflicts many famous writers good potential: it is the sort of embarrassment that is generally known as the initial impasse by "blank sheet".

Often we have to handle confusing information, partial, difficult to understand, we must satisfy the technical requirements required by the technological platform (or imposed by customers) and the organization of the material can take a long time.
Even more complex is to deal with that block that we can not even write to a line. It is true that the word processing programs make it very easy task, because they allow to have a very elastic and flexible approach with the word, do not keep track of errors, do not impose limits on the dial and redial sentences and documents by moving blocks of text here and there.

In fact, as a copywriter and professional writers know, there are several techniques to overcome the initial embarrassment and thoughts to flow.
The main idea is that from which it matters little what we start to throw down, we will have plenty of time to read, correct, cancel.
Some authors recommend starting with even write a book or a page of words in a dictionary and then begin to structure those of articulate speech.
For those who want a more structured approach, and at the same time, learn a new technique, the advice is to turn its attention to those studies that depart from the principles of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and among the best known and articulated C ' is the so-called mental maps.
This theory has been investigated by a British psychologist Tony Buzan, and is structured to provide a tool that fits as closely as possible to the functioning of the human mind. In addition, this model lends itself well to being used in non-linear writing (typical of a hypertext) because it highlights the links and connections at an early stage.
