How do I show file extensions in Windows Vista?

If you want to display file extensions on Windows Vista you have to follow these simple instructions:

  • Open the Control Panel
  • Select Appearance and Personalization, then Folder Options
  • Select the label display
  • Uncheck the "Hide extensions for known file types"
Now you should be able to see the full name of each file extension.
